Have you worked in the automotive industry before? What brought you to the MINI team?
I had not worked in the automotive industry prior to this job. I moved back to Wisconsin from California about 11 years ago and was looking for a career. I decided to apply for a position with Zimbrick Automotive.
Why should a person work for a MINI dealer over other car dealers?
I believe working for the MINI dealer is one of the most satisfying careers I have had due to the people I work with on a day-to-day basis. Learning about the exciting and innovative product line has contributed to my job satisfaction. I am never bored.
What is the typical successful MINI Service Manager like? What characteristics would you use to describe them?
The successful MINI Service Manager will listen to your customers and employees, always striving to be the best that you can be. You must make decisions that are in the best interest of all. At the same time, you can have fun!
What is the most exciting or best part about your job?
The best part of my job is getting to know my customers. Most of my customers are like family, and they know I’m here to help in any way that I can.
What types of training are offered to the MINI Service Advisor/Manager?
Since I started with MINI, I have been able to learn so much. Every year I am able to go to MINI University and learn an array of different things, such as dealing with customers, employees and products. It is always a treat to communicate with other managers and create a bond with fellow MINI personnel.
What other advice or selling points would you share with someone considering a MINI service role career?
My advice for anyone considering a MINI Service Career is to have an open mind and to soak up as much knowledge as possible. That way you can grow as an individual and pass your knowledge down to the next generation.
